Level Floor for Tub?
So, had to have a pipe under concrete repaired by the plumber chosen by the Condo Assoc. When completed, he didn't level the cement. The "contractor" I hired said he would level it and used some quick cement that I had. It ended up higher on the ends than in the middle. Next, he wanted to skip using the 2" of mortar recommended by Sterling to install this Ensemble tub. I feel the mortar became more important than ever and am not sure I want to let this guy continue. Can I count on the mortar to help level or do I need to hold up this project and get a level surface first?

Without you will not have a solid base, it can flex and possibly crack with time.
In addition it will just not feel solid (had a shower once). Feels cheap!

No mortar, no warranty.
Really think he's going to come back and replace the tub for free when it fails?
