Attaching toilet seat bumper

Our toilet seat's support bumpers fell off. Replacements I bought from Home Depot came with double-sided tapes and soon fell off. What's the best cement or glue for attaching the bumpers (plastic, slightly waxy and rubbery feel) and the toilet seat (old-fashioned type, wood with hard white enamel) ?

Can you countersink a screw inside the bumper so that it's more permanent ?

Or find what might be called double tipped "hidden" screws ?

Although you will have to buy a whole tube (and maybe a caulking gun) Liquid nails Fuze-it adhesive is very good and gluing dissimilar materials.

I'm assuming you spent several dollars for replacement bumpers. Then you'll be looking for adhesive that costs at least several dollars. My local big box home center has seats starting at $13. You could consider buying a new seat.

Replacing the seat is impractical--maybe impossible. The attachment posts are more widely spaced than standard, and the seat is very long. It took me ages to find a replacement a few years ago, and even then I had to get a white one for this yellow toilet.

But if anyone knows where I could get a yellow one...
