Is this a crack in my shower insert?

It sure does look like one, i can't tell if it is all the way through. I don't know what to patch it with since i'm not sure if it's plastic or fiberglass.

Give us a wide angle picture.

If that was a crack you should be able to open it by pushing on it gently.

I'm curious about the chipped area. Plastic and fiberglass don't usually chip like that or look like that when they do chip. That almost looks like Marlite. Marlite is a vinyl paper or coating over 1/4" hardboard. Semi waterproof paneling used in damp areas.

The crack is circled. I tried to push on it and it does not give. I used a flash light and could not see through it. This is in a double wide manufactured home so it probably is the cheapest thing they could throw in. It's supposed to be fiberglass and is around 10 years old.

Caulk wouldn't do much in that location. Possibly some fiberglass repair resin and fiberglass tape.

What you can do is to drill a small hole....actually a recess at the end of the crack to keep it from spreading further. You could use a 1/8" - 3/32" sized bit. You don't want to drill all the way thru..... just the surface.
