old iron tail pipe soldered into wall pipe.

I went to put on new bath sink trap, found the tailpipe is 1-1/4" iron, soldered into cast iron pipe in wall. The tailpipe end had become corroded and the short bottom rim broke off, leaving just the larger rim. What is a way to attach new trap without my having to heat up the soldered pipe to get it out & replace? Thanks to anyone with a suggestion that helps...

Use a Fernco coupling.

The problem is, the tailpipe has the downward bend at the end, with the raised ridge on the bottom. I tried a rubber trap, but the pipe is 1-1/4" and the flex trap end for the tailpipe is too large and it won't seal. I can't find one with a 1-1/4" opening. The trap part would have to go over the ridge because the short piece under it broke off from corrosion. I guess I'll have to cut the end off the tailpipe to put a connector and part of a new tailpipe on to it?
