Toilet flange when concrete is finished floor

I am installing a toilet in a building that I have built with a 4" pvc in the concrete. Most of the sites that I have seen recommend no more than a 1/4 inch above finished floor for the flange. I am using the concrete for the finished floor. The flange is 1/2 inch thick. Do I need to grind a 1/4 inch of concrete out so it will only be 1/4 inch above the floor or will 1/2 inch be ok?

No. Just seat the flange against the concrete and it will be fine. However I prefer to not use the all plastic ones. I prefer to use the ones with a metal flange and plastic base. Seen the toilet bolts break out of the all plastic ones more than once. Also with the metal flange on plastic the metal flange part can be rotated after the glue sets. With all plastic ones if you don't get it just right you're screwed.
