Shimming tub
Hello, I'm setting a villager cast iron apron tub. No matter how I shim the feet, I still have a slight rocking. I think slipping a slit rubber hose over a couple or all four feet will minimize or eliminate this.
Any reason not to try it? It feels like the rubber might rush or deteriorate over time...
It's sitting on a slab with metal shims. I can't tell if it's the slab or the tub that is out of true.

The shims are not set properly if the tub is rocking. One trick is to mix up a batch of mortar and place a big blob along the tub's centerline on the floor then set the tub in place. Make sure the mortar blob is tall enough that the tub will squish it down. Leave the tub for a day so the mortar can harden then it's OK to stand in it to finish the install.
