Kohler 1pc ballcock replacement

I searched here for this, no luck so here goes. Trying to replace the ballcock for the above. I got the exact replacement Kohler item, bur it is different, The supply comes into the bowl through a 1/14" tube that goes to above the water line, because the flapper opening is about 2" above the bottom of the tank, leaving about 2 or 3 qts of water, just a pain. Because the exact replacement valve aasy will not fit down into the existing tube. All it needs is the washer in the fill assy. If that was available that would be great. I might try the washer in the new valve just to see. It would be a $41.00 washer. Has anyone had any experience with this problem? Sid

 

1/14" tube? Can't exactly picture what you have. Is there any chance that you can post some pics?

 

The tube is apparently glued to the bottom of the tank whereto supply comes up into the tank. I guess the solution is to remove the tube to install the new ballcock.I was looking for how to post pictures with no luck.
