Dishwasher, vertical wye, water spills out

Please see attached pic and advise if dishwasher set up ok. Whirlpool WDF760SADM

Was hoping to install vertical wye on left sink but not enough space [tried] and horizontal wye meant more work [cut pipes, glue pipes, hope cut pipes correctly].

So have vertical wye on right sink which is nearest to dishwasher although further from drain that is on left sink.

Drain hose will be cut to 5/8" connector [get rid of 1" connector] and then attached/clamped to 1/2" vertical wye.

Did have concern with vertical wye so decided to test it without drain hose connected. When dump water [eg. casserole pan] in right sink then some water does come out of wye. Does not happen if just run faucet.

Q1. I will be looping the drain hose to beneath sink so hoping that will stop any water from travelling up drain hose and into dishwasher. Am I right to say that or should just install horizontal wye?

Q2. Many of the instructions online say to drill hole at top of cabinet and then route drain hose through. The manufacturer instructions say to route drain hose from bottom of cabinet. I plan to do that and then loop to beneath cabinet before clamping to wye. Is it ok to route drain hose from bottom of cabinet? [Note pic 1 shows drain hose routed from top of cabinet but do have hole at bottom of cabinet as seen in pic 2]

Q3. The drain hose that is already connected to dishwasher is on left side and so is ideally next to sink. Instructions say to connect other part of drain hose from underneath of dishwasher at back. Since our sink is to left then is it ok to connect from left side as is and not route from back of dishwasher?

Thanks!!

Your setup in the left hand picture looks fine. The drain hose is properly looped up high. That loop keeps the water from coming back into the dishwasher.

Thanks.

Any issue if route drain hose from bottom of cabinet then loop to beneath sink and then to wye? See pic 2 for fuller photo of double sink and cabinet holes. Easier to route from bottom hole and if any issues that is how manufacturer instructs.

Also, must drain hose be routed from back of DW or can route from left side where it already is?

Much thanks.

Sure.... you can bring it from the washer thru the lower cabinet hole, then all the way to just under the countertop and then to the drain fitting. All extra drain line can be kept under washer.
