Clawfoot Tub Shower Caddy install?

Hi there!

I would like to install a caddy on the vertical pipe of the clawfoot tub shower. The particular caddy (below link) I bought has to be secured by sliding onto the pipe, can anyone offer insight into how one can detach the piping to have access to slide it on?

Thanks so much!

If you were to remove the shower head, will the ring slip over the pipe? Other than that the only way is to undo the pipe and slip it in.

It seems to me this unit is not meant for this type of tub. They do have units that are made for it. But they are pricey.

You have to disassemble the shower riser. Your shelf will slip over the pipe just like the wall support bracket. The gotcha is that the wall support was slid over the pipe when the shower was assembled so you have to take it (the riser) apart, slip on your shelf, then re-assemble everything.

In stores in Europe I have seen caddy's with a split mounting ring so they can be installed without taking the shower apart. Unfortunately I've never seen them sold in the US so you'll probably have to look around online.

Thanks so much for the help! I've started my search to buy a caddy's with a split mounting ring online but no luck. Has anyone out there found any available for purchase?

You'll have to search online until you find one. I've seen them in the stores in Europe where old plumbing is more common but I've never seen them on the shelf in the US.
