What is attached to my sink?
We bought a display kitchen about a year ago and just got to the point where we're installing it. It included a Franke stainless steel apron front sink. Attached under the sink is what look like some type of waste disposal system, but I'm not sure what it is or if it's all there. Can anyone help me identify this device and explain what it does, if it's all there and also, should I be using it with a septic system? I attached an image.

I'm assuming that you sent me directions for attaching an image because it was missing. I reviewed the post before publishing and it was there. Don't know what happened. I attached again.

That looks like a remote actuated waste valve operator.
Couldn't link to a brand. I do see writing on the part that may help with a company ID.

I'm guessing it's similar to the parts in this link: Franke 112.0006. 251.

The top outlet goes to the overflow/siphon on the back of the sink. The bottom outlet continues on to the drain and trap. (And the drain outlets should likely be going in different directions... not the same direction) The cable is evidentally to a switch on the countertop and it probably works the popup/drain.
This is surely a European design... not commonly used in the US.

I agree that it looks European. Does the sink have an overflow opening in it? If so, you'll have to hunt up more parts. If not, I would remove it and get a regular basket strainer. And I think it'll be difficult to install a garbage disposal with it.
