Toilet seat lid

Silly, question. I’m not a handyman. Just replaced my toilet lid seat. The top of it keeps coming loose. Is there something I need to do to stop this from happening. The actual seat is fine and sturdy. It’s the just the lid. Any tips would be helpful. It’s a Kohler.

You should have nylon or plastic nuts holding that seat to the toilet. You need to firmly tighten down on the screws while holding the nut tight.

I am not aware of a toilet seat/lid that has separate attachments for the lid and seat. All Kohlers I have seen the seat and lid are attached to the toilet by the same pair of bolts and there is no separate attachment or adjustment for the lid. So, if the seat is firmly attached and you are having trouble with the lid then it's probably a problem with the seat/lid. If the seat or lid is defective you should return it for one that works properly.

Your hinge dampers for the seat may not be seated properly. You didn't say what MODEL of Kohler seat/lid you have, so I am guessing.

Go to YouTube and search for this video: Hinge and Damper Replacement - Quiet-Close Toilet Seats
