Sticking Tub Impeller

My basement tub's jets don't turn on when I press the air button. The motor just hums. If I unscrew the line going into (or out of) the pump and spin the impeller by hand and then reconnect the line, the pump will start right up. But if I come back a few days later, it will stick again.

Is there anything I can do to lubricate this impeller so I don't have to keep going through this?

Welcome to the forums.

Impellers in pumps don't get lubricated. They use ceramic seals that any lube would destroy.
It sounds like your motor has a starting issue. Is it a split phase motor with capacitor ?
It may need a new cap.
