Shower Not getting hot enough

I have an older Grohe shower that is no longer getting hot enough. I believe it is an issue with the temperature regulator valve because my bathroom sinks get hot. I'm not sure what this valve would look like and I don't know the model number of the faucet (from the 1990's most likely). I've looked online and can't really find anything that looks similar. Any suggestions? Thanks

Well, you'll probably have to remove the handle and trim to get a look at it. Here's some help with how they'll look when exposed:

It has a similar look to the ones from that link that have a green piece within it. Grohe 34 900 1/2 thermostatic valve. Not sure how I attach a photo to my response.

Is that green part the valve? If not what is the actual valve and how does one remove it to change?

Thanks
