How water pressure in upstair bathroom has suddenly dropped

A few weeks ago I was showering when the diverter loudly jolted and switched back to faucet from shower on its own. When I switched it back to shower, the water was no longer just coming out the holes of the shower head but seemed to be running out around the rubber part of the front of the head as well. I called Grohe and they sent me a new shower head but the hot water pressure is definitely not what it was before. When showering, the diverter does leak a bit but just a very small stream. I checked the bathroom sink and the hot also seems to have less pressure than cold now. Downstairs in kitchen, there is no difference in pressure between hot and cold.

We had our bathroom redone just a few years ago and in addition to the shower faucet, etc. our plumber also had us order a Grohe 35015000 Grohsafe Universal Pressure Balance Rough-In Valve. Could that be the problem now (my parts are still under warranty) or should I be looking at something else?

Thanks.
