Kitchen Faucet Makes Clunking Noise

Hi Everyone,

Over the past few months, our kitchen faucet will make a clunking noise when you turn it on. It seems to happen when you haven't used it in a while, but stops doing it once you have opened the tap once.

I want to say that we've also experienced an occasional air in the water lines as well, so i don't know if that is related. We live in Florida, so all of the water lines are below slab. There doesn't seem to be any leaks that i have detected.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Have you looked underneath for flexible connection lines or a sprayer hose moving when you turn the water on?

I'd also check the incoming water pressure.
A simple, cheap valve like this connected to an outside faucet will let you know what it is.
There's no need for it to be above 50 PSI.

A worn faucet cartridge can cause clunking,
Try replacing them.

Well, the cold water supply line did move a bit when we turned the water on this morning. I supposed it could also be the cartridge. Our water does a good job of clogging the shower heads after a while.
