I guess I would be looking for a gate. Looking at home Depot or Lowe's most drains or gates seem to thread into pvc pipe. This pipe doesn't have threads and I can move it around with my fingers.
original problem was we couldn't take a bath because there was no way to plug the drain.
We may have problems. That drain fitting looks rare.
I've never seen one where the shoe isn't screwed into the fitting.
Ok... be careful.... your grate is a critical part of that type of drain.
Don't put any water in there... it'll go right into the ceiling below.
With yours.... the bolt thru the grate appears to hold the drain in place.
I added a red arrow to your first pictures. It looks like there needs to be a gasket between the drain fitting and the bottom of the tub.... right at the arrow. Is there a chance it fell into the floor when you took the grate off ?
You can get a grate with a center bolt hole and gasket.... but there needs to be a seal between the drain and the tub. Do you have access under the tub ?
I searched for an hour and only found one install similar but not the exact same as yours.
You see the gasket between the fitting and the tub.
I'm going to leave a PM for one of my fellow moderators to check in here.
If we can't help you I'd recommend going directly to a plumbing supply.
Very doubtful a home improvement store will have what you need.
I can see dirt residue that looks like there once was a trim ring or grate. Has that part broken off? It appears the part with the threads might be broken off inside the drain fitting concealing the threads since part of the grate is still in place.
It kinda looks like there may be a piece inside the drain pipe, I tried to unscrew them with some decent force and they wouldn't budge a part. To be fair I did just move into this house, this drain is disgusting sorry for your eyes.
Yes, that is all I did. It was operational before I tried just couldn't take a bath because of no drain plug. I don't believe there is anything broken or it would have been very clean break which I'm sure is possible.
Then you'll need to go to a plumbing supply. You'll need the gasket that looks like is there in one of the last pics between the drain fitting and the bottom of the tub. You can probably get a replacement grate. I don't think you're going to find a grate/stopper combination.
You may have to use a drain stopper mat. Stopper mat
I have a very similar drain in both of my home's bathtubs. PJ's descriptions and analysis is correct.
I've always thought it was a very poor design, but (thankfully) I've never had any leaks! (fingers crossed)
Hi-
We have an Asko dishwasher (I can look up the model if needed) and I have notice a little clean standing water in the bottom of the unit lately and it's driving me nuts. Every time I think I have it resolved it happens again. It has been running fine for years.
I took the drain hose off and made sure it was clear. I removed the black pipe and white pipe underneath the sink (above the P-trap) and completely cleaned it out, there was just a little gunk in there. The garbage disposable is clean, I cleaned it out with ice and didn't see a trace of gunk in there. Didn't fix the issue.
I have run it numerous times and it always fully empties after the cycle. When I notice a little water in there I will start a cycle and it immediately pumps the water out and then I stop the cycle so I think the pump is ok?
So where the heck is the water coming from? Is there an issue where it is somehow coming back from the drain tube when we use the sink or is there a chance the fresh water inlet is letting some leak back into the unit?
I just want to make sure I have exhausted everything I can before calling a dishwasher repair tech in.
Thanks.

Hey guys, we have a Moen shower faucet which started leaking and we replaced with original cartridge from Home Depot which looks exactly the same but after installing cartridge not getting hot water like before changing.
My question is this, if I should get a cartridge from Moen directly, will that make a difference or should I change the shower body please?Read More
