The air control button on my jacuzzi tub is not working and I'm hoping someone can assist. Logical option is to replace the button, but I can't reach the button from the access panel. I've attached two pictures; one with the button assembled, and one with it disassembled.
Hopefully you can see the black plastic plunger. It comes right out of the assembly. The plunger has a groove on it about half-way up its stem. Whatever was in the groove is not there anymore. Does anyone know what goes in the groove? an O-ring?
The aerator is stuck in high speed. I have to push to button about 20 times to get a change in speed.
Any advice on getting the button working again would be greatly appreciated.
I would assume the groove held an O ring turning that black piece into a piston. There are numerous air switches available but I could not find individual parts for the button. Everything is sold as a assembly but you might buy one and disassemble it for parts. Or, you can try seeing if simply putting an O ring on the shaft will make it work.
There is a ring of stain in my toilet bowl just above the normal water level. I believe the stain got there because when the toilet is flushed, the water level momentarily rises above the normal level. The film of water that coated the bowl above the water level then evaporates leaving behind stain.
I use regular toilet bowl cleaner containing HCl and scrubbed several times but they are still there.
Some people suggest sprinkling baking soda and then pouring vinegar into the bowl. Since one is alkaline and the other is acid, don't they just neutralize each other and turn into salt and water?
If I use a putty knife to scrape the stain, would it leave metal marks? What other methods can I try? I'm avoiding using a scour pad because I don't want to stick my hand too deep into the bowl, even with gloves.Read More
Standard air gap, plastic drain hose from dishwasher, PVC pipe, rubber O ring, Where the air gap goes through the counter top the O ring has black gunk around it. I don't know if it's just gunk or mold? There is no mold or black gunk inside the drainage hose when I take the top off the air gap or look at the drainage hose under the sink. Do I need to spray diluted bleach around the air gap every time I run the dishwasher? Clean and dry the metal air gap "lid" after every dishwasher use? Is there any way to prevent this?
