Installing new Oatey shower drain for a pvc shower liner

Iím converting a tub into a shower only with a poured shower base. Iím responyfor the drain. I have a 2Ē oatley drain. My drains are 1 1/2. Do I reduce it right at the drain or where it goes into the 1 1/2 drain. Also how much of a slope is needed. I have about a 2 1/2 foot run. Also can I make the p trap a little higher for more slope
Thanks

A shower requires a 2" drain. That is why there are no 1 1/2" shower drains. Luckily you only have a short distance of the 1 1/2" to replace with 2". 1/4" of fall per foot is the standard slope.

Shower drain

Thanks. The house was built in the 50ís. I removed the bathtub and the main drain stack is 1 1/2. Can I reduce the pvc down to 1 1/2 at the main drain. There is a fernco fitting on there now.
do they have a fern co from 2 to 1 1/2
