Looking to re-purpose couch for roof patio, any ideas?
I have a faux leather couch that i currently have on the top of my roof patio I am looking for ways to re-purpose the couch so it can be used outside, it will be covered during rain and wet weather. I was thinking of a fabric that i could re-upholster that could with stand Seattle weather. I would also buy a cover for extra protection.
I have some pictures below. Looking for ideas on possible material i could use re-purpose sofa or if any other ideas out there i could use.
(if this is a lost cause, that is an acceptable answer!)
Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.
It's not only what you re-cover it with.... it's what is the furniture constructed of.
No matter how well furniture is covered it always gets wet.

Cover what you have and use it as long as you want/can. Then throw it away. The sofa is not worth the cost of re-upholstering. When covering put something underneath the cover to prevent water from puddling as puddles will eventually seep through so you want the water to immediately run off.

A marine grade Sunbrella or Vinyl would probably work but for the amount of fabric you'd need, it would be very pricey. You'd need a sewing machine that could handle it too, plus outdoor thread.
Agree with the others that buying an outdoor set would probably be cheaper and easier.

Seattle weather is damp and rainy ten months a year and hot and dry the remaining two, unless it's changed since I lived there. Nothing designed to be inside will stand up to that.
