Plastic-Dip rubber coating to cover wear on vinyl seat cover?

Hi All.

We have an office-style chair that is in good condition, except for visible wear on the seat cushion, which seems to be upholstered in textured non-slip vinyl – please see photo attached below

Aside from the wear, everything's in good shape, so I wonder: how about a re-spray using a "Rubber Coating Aerosol" like this one:

https://www.amazon.com/Performix-112.../dp/B0006SU3QW

My only concern about trying it ('suck it and see', right?) is if anyone has any experience of it rubbing off on clothes (since we're talking about a seat cushion) and staining clothes. Otherwise, at less than $5, I figure it's worth taking a chance. If it just rubs off over time, so what? Just re-spray...

Thanks,

It wont work on anything that is soft and flexible like a cushion, the material will crack right off.

You could try some type of dye but I would not sit on it!
