Vinyl tiles on particle board

I am putting self stick vinyl tiles on particle board using the ones that use grout, with the grout i dont need to seal it with anything like shellac correct?

Vinyl - self stick or glue down - should not be put on anything other than an underlayment quality plywood and skimmed to blend all seams and nail holes. Vinyl will show any defects underneath it over time. Also, if true particleboard, it should be removed and replaced with something more appropriate for flooring. Particleboard is overall a failed experiment when it comes to flooring.

Look up the manf. install directions on line and follow there directions to a tee or there's no warranty.

The moisture in the glue may be enough to make the particle board fail.

Laying vinyl planks over 1960's era mosaic floor tiles

More than anything else in the world i'd love to change the floor in my 1965 bathroom. The original floor seems to be ceramic mosaic squares over approximately 3" of concrete. I DO NOT want to remove that floor - simply to cover it with vinyl. What would be the best method to produce a smooth subfloor? Is there such a thing as a cement slurry that could be squeegeed over the mosaic? Thanks in advance londonlad

I'm installing self stick vpf over old hardwood floor. I know, I know, don't use ss-vpf, but the customer absolutely insists. That said, I want to make sure I have a good surface for the vpf to stick. One contractor that said he used Elmer's Construction glue(?). He would thin it with water, roll it and let it dry. He claimed it works the best. Has anyone used it? There's also Henry's bond enhancer. Could I use just use Kilz2 or another primer instead of Henry's? Thanks in advance!
