Linoleum ?? help

Linoleum ?? help

We removed some old lino from.the house,.and them found out about asbestos! This lino was not glue down only nailed down in a few places can it be asbestos still? The bottom lino had a carpet like backing, have read that it could.be jute backing?

Can anyone.help me out?
Im freaking out!!?!

If you work with asbestos eight hours a day for 30 years it might be a problem but casual short term exposure is unlikely to be a problem.

No need to freak out. I can't say whether or not it has asbestos but normally just an exposure or two won't harm you. It's those that have a lifetime of exposure that are prone to asbestos related illness. Asbestos is only harmful in a dry breathable form so if there is any left - wetting it first will minimize the danger.

Asbestos must be friable (a dust) to be dangerous. You will be fine.
