Bead caulking vs grouting for vinyl groutable floor tile:

we are putting done vinyl floor tiles in our kitchen. They can be grouted or not. We're choosing to grout. Can we use bead caulking instead of the grouting that comes in a tub. We tried the grout, but it is tedious and messy. Will the caulk hold up and work like grouting? Please help. I want my kitchen back.🙄

Use what the manufacturer recommends. If you think grout is messy and tedious, caulk is even worse. It is challenging enough to work in a corner, let alone a straight plane. Most of the pre-mixed grout that goes with vinyl is basically modified caulking, but the key is how you clean up after application. Large sponge, lots of fresh clean water (5 gallon bucket) and wiping at a 45 degree angle to the grout lines.
