Vinyl Plank Flooring On Concrete

Going to install vinyl plank flooring over new concrete in mud room. I've read differing opinions on using a vapour barrier or not. The manufacturer website says its not required but I've read a few forums where they say if there is any possibility of moisture (I can't guarantee there is not) ,then a vapour barrier is required to prevent mold.

So if the manufacturer says it;s not required why are you looking for counter information? Dont they provide the warranty should something go wrong assuming you followed their directions!

Recommendations for vinyl plank in basement bathroom.

Alright im going crazy spinning in circles trying to find the best flooring for my application. We are renovating our basement full bathroom. The bathroom also has our mechanical room attached to it in a closet. And there is a floor drain somewhat in the center of the room. So there is a slight slope towards the drain, something around 1/8" per 4 feet. Any recommendations for what flooring will work best for the application? I'm leaning towards vinyl plank due to its waterproof characteristics. I dont like tiles I'm open to any flooring available at a box store and would like it to be $3 psf or less (Canadian). And secondly is there a floor drain cover type of deal to put on your vinyl (or any) flooring so it drains down into the floor drain on the concrete? Thanks, TTiffinRead More

[left]I have a house in Louisiana that is about a 100 yrs old. It’s elevated about 3 ft off the ground. No subfloor. Sections of the hardwood have to be replaced due to them being weak or have holes. Going to redo the weak/missing sections with same thickness plywood and then have the old hardwood floors become my subfloor. What should be my next step? I’ve heard to ad some sort of moisture barrier then put laun or plywood sheets on top then add some sort of thin cushion/under layment then the vinyl planking. Any advice please?
