Any tips / advice on staining 20 year old concrete floors? Someone suggested muratic acid to open the concrete up?

As in an acid stain?
Muratic acid will open the pores on slick concrete but it's not something I'd want to use inside a house.

Lot of ventilation if you use muriatic acid - like open all the windows AND have a couple of fans creating a breeze through the space.
