unsightly grout

we had a mildew/mold issue with parts of our bathroom shower grout. My wife has tried:
10% chlorine bleach with 90% water
ZEP
Vinegar and water 50/50
1/2 cup baking soda 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
At this point she feels the mildew/mold is gone but the grout is just stained and she can't seem to get it out

Any suggestions?

I'd try a stronger bleach solution - maybe 30-40% bleach [assuming it's not a dark grout]
Sometimes it's best to use a grout saw to remove the top portion of the grout and then re grout.

Unless the grout is white, I would limit the use of bleach. They have some enzymatic grout cleaners, but if the grout is heavily stained. re-grouting and then sealing may be needed.

Drilling porcelain tiles

I need to drill a few 1/4" diameter holes through the porcelain wall tiles in my bathroom. The porcelain tile is about 3/8" thick and very hard. I tried a masonry bit, no luck. Next I ordered a set of diamond bits. These are hollow bits kind of like a tiny hole saw. [IMG]http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w67/143house/11th/IMAG6823.jpg[/IMG] How would I use these hollow bits to drill a hole at an exact location on the tile without skiding? Do I need to drill out a 1/4" hole 0n a piece of 1X lumber then use that as a drill guide on the tile?

Here's our shower before being tiled by others. Anyone have an issue with this? Specifically greenboard along the top? His argument is that's how it's usually done. You could use the concrete board all the way to the top, but a) water doesn't get up that high so if there's water damage, you have bigger problems and b) tile sticks better to greenboard on the ceiling of the shower? Is he shoveling manure or is there legitimacy in any of that? How much more would concrete board add to a job like this?[ATTACH]66192[/ATTACH]
