Sealing natural stone slate floors

I recently sealed my natural slate stone floors, unfortunately when I did so, it left streaks throughout my kitchen on the stone, which are very noticeable. How can I fix these streaks? Can I apply another coat of sealer, will that reactivate the sealer enough for me to remove those streaks? Or what do I need to do to get rid of these? Does anyone recommend floor stripper to get rid of these? Any help if greatfully appreciated!

Welcome to the forums! ... Did you use a water based or solvent based sealer?

You could try another coat. My in-laws have some marble floors in their house and never did get all of the streaks out. Welcome to natural stone flooring.

Hi Zachary,

As already mentioned I also think it would be a good idea if you'd tell us which sealer you used, how you applied it and how many coats etc.

Sure sounds like you didn't apply it evenly and did not apply multiple coats going in different directions. Just a wild guess. Applying more will probably fix it, unless you applied it too thick and also left puddles. Need more info.
