Exclamation Porch brick flooring is hard on feet

We have a beautiful home that has a brick flooring done on the porch. This looks good but the brick surface being very rough, it's not only hurting the feet without shoes (mainly kids) but also is attracting a lot of dirt and dust which is again hard to clean (please see attachment).

Any ideas how to fix this? I was thinking of covering it with asphalt/concrete but it will be permanent.
All suggestions are welcome and appreciated. I just do not want to spend much on this as this one is a new home built 8 months ago.

Thanks in anticipation!

You dont want to put concrete of asphalt on that, if it's that bad the bricks will need to be removed.

Id personally be looking for a large outdoor floor mat!

Use an indoor/outdoor carpeting. Can be removed, hosed off and cleaned, and won't hold mold or mildew if allowed to dry out. You can also make runner or pathway using carpet and still allow the beauty of the brick to show.

I'd go rug shopping. Outdoor rugs would be best but even a standard, indoor area rug will last for 10+ years outdoors on a porch.

If you want kid friendly but ugly there are rubber squares often used on garage floors that snap together. You can get them in a variety of textures and colors and they can configured to whatever layout you want.

I'd consider a quick coat of swimming pool paint. Makes the surface smoother to the touch, but looks like you'll still have enough roughness for walking without slipping.

Post Script -
you could also do whitewash, go with a think grout-like sand and lime wash to smooth over the rough texture.
