Floor Tile For Powder Room

I am renovating my powder room and can't decide on tile. The house is oiled bronze so I need to try to keep it in the family. My wife is really digging a tile pattern from Lowes but I am sketical especially since it's fairly cheap from Lowes. I generally prefer clean low key and less busy bathrooms and prefer marble. There's 23092409234902409240929 types of so tile so not sure where to start. I am intriged with the pattern look but it's not something that I would consider on my own. Should I decide size first? And then narrow down style/color/etc.?

I generally prefer ... marble
Personally, between its softness (how easily it gets scratched) and it's requirement of being sealed, I would never choose marble over ceramic or porcelain tile. Not to mention natural stone requires a stiffer subfloor as well.

Yes -- I spent a very large amount of money on my cararra marble master bath. I love it but the maintenance and worrying wasn't worth it. There are porcelin look-a-likes. Here's a few options I like:

I am intrigued with the pattern
I realize everybody has their own tastes but that's a little too much for me.

For tile, carpet, and paint I try to keep things relatively neutral, when styles change it's a lot easier to throw out that pattern accent pillow than replace a floor!

Very important if you are purchasing tile from a box store instead of a tile distributor. Many of the items offered are actually factory seconds. They look great until you put a ruler to them and find that they are not square and as I have witnessed can be out of square by as much as 3/16ths of an inch. It makes keeping a grout line straight nearly impossible. I have sworn that if a customer tells me they want me to install tile bought from a box store, I will refuse the job.

Instead, visit a reputable tile distributor. Ask to see only tiles that are rectified (true square). You will get higher quality, if working with a contractor you will get a better price and have a better chance of success.

Great point. The quality at the local Floor & Decor was muuch better. We are leaning towards 2" white porcelain hex with black grout.

Went with 2" white porcelain hex with black grout (MAPEI-Ultracolor-Plus-FA). The product says it already contains sealant. Should I still seal it? Any maintenance required? Or just the occasional bathroom bleach spray?

Bleach and grout are a bad combination. I would seal the grout.
