Cutting subway tile slivers (need 1/4” wide)
Hey all,
I’m finishing up a fireplace remodel and have used glass 3x6 subway tile for the surround and hearth. I’ve used a standard tile cutter until now and the project has gone great.
I ended up with two rows that require
a small 3/8” wide sliver tile on each end. Anyone have suggestions or tips on cutting such a narrow sliver?

Lowes will cut tiles, Don't know if they will cut yours but I would check. Better than buying or renting for a few cuts. Cuts that small may take several tries as they will break very easy.

Set up the tile saw guide,
Set the saw blade to cut about a sixteenth of an inch.
Cut the tile on one side then the other.
Raise the blade and cut through.
I would try just a single cut through before the above.
Some tiles cut thin slices good others do not.

Ive cut such slivers numerous times on white ceramic subway tile.
a cheap wet saw from harbor freight or princess auto will work. Just use a decent saw blade.
you can buy this type of saw, used for cheap, on kijiji and craigslist. Make your cuts and then resell the saw.
