Tile Cracked Length of Kitchen
I am about to repair the grout for a crack the length of our kitchen. Near the floor transition, 1 piece of laminate is sticking up as well. When pulling up the transition strip, we noticed a gap in the concrete below our sub floor.
I believe expansion gaps are normal below sub-flooring, but how wide is OK? Does the photo below reflect normal?

That's quite a crack you have so something is moving and the crack in the grout is mirroring the crack/gap in the backer or subflooring. There are no expansion gaps in subflooring or tile backer. Everything should be screwed down solid so nothing moves.

Thank you for the response. Any suggestions on path forward? Seems as though replacing the grout would just mask a broader problem. Thanks again.

If the subfloor is moving, either expanding and contracting or the house is settling, your grout will continue to crack. One thing you not do is align joints or seams. Any seams or joints in your subfloor should NOT align or be close to joints/seams in your tile backer. If your floor has that much movement then tile is not a good choice because it demands a solid, non-moving base.
