Ripping out wall in kitchen

I've decided to open up my kitchen and knock out a small piece of the wall behind the sink. All was going well until I ran into these 2x4s next to each other. Should I be concerned about these being load bearing? And if so, any suggestions to work around it?

Sorry the pic is rotated. My house is a 1950s built rambler. thanks.

I fixed your pic. When removing a wall or part of a wall you always have to worry about it being load bearing. In your case, I'd say you normally wouldn't have doubled up framing unless there was a reason for it. What direction to the ceiling joists above and floor joist below run. What is above and below that wall? Can you give a wider picture and a picture from the side?

Yes, I would be concerned. Anytime you see doubled up or tripled up studs, you have to assume they were put there for a reason.
There's no quick answer, you might need a header. It would help to see a picture of the entire sink wall, taken from as far back as you can.
You also want to check what's above the post behind faucet.

I jumped into the attic, and they are running perpendictular, so my guess is load-bearing. I think I'm just going to leave those alone.

check what's above the post behind faucet.
When you were up there did you notice if the "post" was the drain vent.
