Mounting fixtures near ceiling drywall seam?

Ill be mounting a small chandelier (sub 30lbs) tomorrow using a ceiling fan box and screw in support brace.

These work great for my ceiling fans. The location of the box is going to leave about an inch maybe 2 of space betweeb the edge of the electrical box and a seam where two pieces of drywall meet.

The seam runs perpendicular to the 2x4 framing with about 24" of space between each beam.

Technically the weight of the structure will be supported by the bracket secured across the width of the appropriate beams. The bracket does have tabs that get inserted between the drywall and the beam.

Im just wondering if this is ok as i dont want to comprise the drywall seam and eventually end up splitting along the seam or worse.

Thanks in advance.

As long as the box is securely mounted it shouldn't have any effect on the drywall seam.

There are fan box braces that don't have those little tabs that slide between the sheetrock and the joist. Like this one:

I think it's unlikely that little tabs will put enough pressure on the sheetrock to stress the nearby seam, but if you want to be extra cautious, return your brace and get one without the tabs.

Ok cool. I appreciate the feedback. Ill stick with what i have. Im not agreeable with the screw/tension style brackets. Im afraid of them shifting somehow how and failing over time.

Sounds like ill be in good shape. It was quite a pita to run the switched wire to the junction box where ill be connecting the pigtail for the chandelier. Hopefully theres no more hangups
