Drywall Crack Repair Question

Hello all. I have some hairline cracks in my drywall right around the corners of a bump-out Window feature. Just making sure I'm going about repairing the correct way. I was going to cut a v notch and patch it with drywall tape and mud. Does this seem right? Links to Pics below. Thx!!

Are the cracks at the edge of the corner bead? about an 1" or little more from the corner's edge.

Tape problems

All seemed to be going pretty well with my bathroom remodel but I've ran into a problem. Being an amature a bought self adhesive perforated paper tape. Now the horizontal joint around the room has hairline cracks along the edges of the tape. I finally noticed the fine print that says not to use pre-mixed or light weight mud. I've tyres several coats to fill it in and build it up but the two cracks along the tape show up every time. So what's the best way to fix this. I'm afraid it is to sand it all the way back down, remove the tape and start over. I also considered sanding down a little way and tape over. Help please.Read More

Our house, built in 1932 in Seattle, has wood paneling in the living room. [ATTACH]74697[/ATTACH] We'd like to mount some bookshelves onto these walls, but we're unsure of how to go about it. Naturally, our standard stud sensor is useless at locating the studs. Should we just assume the studs are spaced every 16 inches (as they are in [I]parts[/I] of the rest of the house)? Or does it even matter? Perhaps the wood paneling is sufficiently solid to support a decent size bookshelf? Thanks!Read More
