Cement board fasteners

Looking for the best screws to use in cement board tub surround tile backer.

Should I find some corrosion proof?

A whole lot faster and easier, cheaper to use Galv, roofing nails.
Far easier to get them to sit flush then the screws.

The tile adhesive will fill the voids.

Use the correct screws for the type of backerboard you are using. IMO, 1/2" Durock or Permabase is easiest to use on walls. It also will sit flush to the adjacent drywall so you can make a nice transition. I hang mine initially with roofing nails and then go back and screw it off. Backer screws have heads that are designed to grip the board. Other types of nails will pull through the backer and break the surface and not have any holding power.
