Installing drywall over fiberglass reinforced panels

I just moved into a new home with very outdated looking FRP in the kitchen. I would like to remove them and put dry wall in instead. I have been reading about removing FRP and it sounds time consuming and it seems that I will likely damage the dry wall behind the paneling. Could I install drywall directly over the FRP?

#1, Posting a picture is always big help.
Time consuming is always a red flag, to do a job right always takes more time.
Install it over it an how is that going to effect all the window and outlets?
