How to finish drywall with panels

Hello!

Just an FYI: this is my first DIY project so if you read something and want to throw your phone across the room because it was just that stupid, I’m sorry.

My laundry room is incomplete, and I would love to get started finishing it. My first question ; there’s a long wall with no pipes or anything that has drywall plus, about every 1-2 feet, a panel that goes from the floor to the ceiling. I’m not sure why they’re there but I don’t mind them... I just need to know how to finish it with them there! Do I just layer and layer and layer a bunch of concrete until it matches up with the end of the panel? (If you haven’t thrown your phone yet I’m proud of you) or do I have to buy something that will snug right in between the panels? I’d probably believe anything you guys tell me, so please be nice!

Thank you for bearing through my first post that should probably be titled ‘how not to finish a wall with panels’.

I'm also having a hard time understanding what you mean by panels, pics would help explain what you have.

Apparently it’s called a pegboard!

I'm a little confused..... I don't see any sheetrock or pegboard panels there.
If this is not your picture...... one of your project would be needed.

Pegboard is 1/4" hardboard with holes in it.

I don’t know what everything is called... I just saw the word pegboard on the picture so that’s what I thought it was called. And I can’t figure out how to post images from my phone but that’s exactly what my wall looks like. I just don’t know how to finish it.

I only post pictures from a laptop or home computer.
Many members had have said they can't post pics from their phone.

Ok...... so your wall looks identical to the wall in post 3..... correct ?
Then you just have a studded wall. Open on one side and closed on the other side.
For a laundry room..... the walls should just be sheetrocked. If you do have pegboard panels there and don't use them..... take them down.

If you are saying there is peg board every so often, you'd remove the peg board before hanging drywall.

Sheetrock is a brand name of drywall.
Should it also be insulated at all?
What's on the other side of the wall. The only 2 reasons to insulate is for heat [exterior wall] or noise reduction.
