Preferred Primer for Old Drywall Retaped and Finished

I stripped the “acoustic” from a ceiling. I removed some loose joint tape and taped with FibaFuse Max. i rescrewed the panels so spotted the screws and old nails.
So I have hybrid old-new drywall. SO how should I prime/. Is there some compelling reason to use PVA or some other primer?

PVA primers are the bottom of the barrel only suited for bare drywall and not ideal if the top coat is latex enamel. I'd prime those areas with Zinnser's 123.
