Applying texture to ceilings with recessed lights
Moderators note: separated from applying texture to ceilings with recessed lighing
We have a room that was finished with 16 recessed lights. Had to have part of ceiling and wall repaired due to water damage. The drywall/texture company completely covered each light with blue painters tape. Then sprayed texture. They left the lights on for a day and a half. We have been trying to remove the tape and it looks like the glue from the tape has bonded to the glass of the light. We are not able to remove this glue/film. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on how to remove the glue film?

You could first try rubbing alcohol or denatured alcohol on a soft rag or cotton ball. If that's not enough of a solvent try a low VOC paint thinner.
