Chunks clogging faucets
Hello, I recently purchased a home with a 22 year old water heater. And have noticed reduced flow at the faucets. I decided to flush the water heater and have done so twice now. Both times completely emptying the tank then letting it drain while the water fills for about 15 min. And my faucets are still getting clogged I believe its from the water heater because in the kitchen thw reduced flow only happens on the hot side.
I took a picture of the chunks clogging every thing up.

What are these chunks and where are they coming from? Should i just keep trying to flush them out?

Welcome to the forums.
It looks like you have a pile of all different things. This ALL came out of the water heater ?
Possibly calcium/mineral deposits in tank. Are the chunks white and powdery ?
Are there any hard plastic pieces in there ?

I believe its coming from the water heater i doesn't seem to come from the cold water they seem to be mineral deposits. Sort of chalky in consistency and they are all the same just colored darker on one side.

#1. time for a new water heater.
It's at least 5 years past due.
I'd also have the water tested, that water may need to be treated to reduce the minerals in the water.
Old steel plumbing?

Copper pipes everywhere they are visible. Previous owner installed a treatment system October of last year. Im hoping that this problem would qualify me for a replacement water heater with the home warranty we bought along with the house. This is week 3 of disassemling all the faucets once a week to clean them out.
