Pilot light/flame not lighting

I have a 2005 GE Power Vent smartwater heater GG50T6PF00. The pilot light tries to light the flame but after 3 attempts it fails and then i get an error blinking light (error light flashes 2 times, pauses and the repeats), which means system tried up to 3 times to light but failed.

I then had it inspected, and tech stated the pilot light area was fairly dirty and he cleaned it > worked right away and seemed to cure the issue. Now it has been about 3 months since then and it is starting to do the same thing again. I have to reset the power to it to make it try and re-light (reset the code) several times/day.

I looked at the pilot and burner assembly, and it looks clean under there
2. Should I get a replacement part and what exactly is that part? (I want the pilot/burner assembly kit)
3. Are the assembly kits mainly universal? as I cannot find anything for this particular model
3. Replace the whole water heater due to age?

thanks for any info.

That GE water heater carries a six year tank warranty.
At 14 years old it may be time for a replacement.
