Exclamation Repairable leak in heating element cylinder housing?

Our water heater has a slow leak coming out near the bottom heating element housing. Not exactly where the element unscrews, but at the base of the thread housing. There is a cylindrical section that comes out of the tank and then the heating element screws into that section. My leak is coming from that cylinder at the base where it meets up with the tank.

I can post pictures if needed.

Thanks so much!!!

Time to shop for a new water heater. Leaks in the tank can not be repaired. It has rusted through from the inside out.
