I just installed a 1 cf with fleck 5600 it has the sst60 resin my water hardness is 9 iron is 2 and manganese .3 right now I have these settings c 22 h 20 sf 20 d o4 bw1 8 bd 50 bw2 2 rr 8 bf 4 I have the double backwash version the dlfc is .5 I have about an inch of water above the salt grid after the brine fill before I add salt If I have omitted any info please advise Thanks

First off, hello to everyone on here. This is my first post so be kind! I have recently fitted a GE 255/460i softener. I bought it from a guy who bought it new a coupl of years ago but he never got around to fit it. The whole thing was there including the fitting kit. I've installed it exactly as the instructions and its been in use for about two months. Its working great. Nice soft water. What I did from the start was to half-fill the salt res with water and put about 4 inches of salt tabs in and did a manual cycle. When I checked after a week the water level was bout 5 inches and the salt was bout 2 inches. So I filled it up again and added more salt. Checked it again a couple of weeks later and found the same thing. Is this condition correct or is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks.
