Disconnecting old whole house water filtration system

We moved into a house with an old water filtration system that we would like to remove. I assume it is connected somewhere underground to the main water line and run around the house to the back yard where the filtration system is located. How big of a job would it be (if I can find the connection) to disconnect the water filtration system so I can remove it? Thank you

Impossible to say based on your description, some pictures would be helpful to see what you have!

Sorry... the system of two tanks is located a shed in the backyard. I would like to remove this system but I need to disconnect it from the main water line before I do. The connection is buried in the front yard.

Either some photos of what we have been asked to comment on or just find a contractor to do the work of removing the system from the water line supplying the house.
