What tools would I need to cut a circle in my pc case?
I want to cut a window hole (apx. 8" DIA) in a PC case panel. The panel is probably about 1mm thick with some thin sound dampening material on it (like rubber as thick as a pencil lead)
What would I need to cut a hole in it that's as close to perfect as possible?

Welcome to the forums!
How perfect does it need to be? A hole saw will cut a nice circle but at 8" would be pricey. I'd consider drilling a hole and then cutting it out with a jigsaw. The edges could be dressed up by sanding.

Here is a page of hole saws, there is a 200 mm one for 41$ 7 7/8 and a 8 inch for 90* $ , Might be cheaper to take panel to machine shop to have hole cut.

Jigsaw
Wouldn't a jigsaw just go everywhere? What's a machine shop? I saw someone suggest that for another PC mod but I don't know what a machine shop, no hits for that in Dallas at least.
The cheapest I can get someone to do it for is $50 dollars and even then I'm not sure they'll do a good job of it, so if it's not that much more it seems a better idea to get the tools in case I mod someone else case the same way.
Also it's steel. Forgot to mention that.

You know you have piqued our curiosity. What would be the purpose of an 8" hole in a PC case? And how many people do you have standing line to have this modification done??

Yes you could use jigsaw but hole would not be pretty. Unless you have years of practice. I have used them for 40 + years and still can not make a nice round hole.

A circle cutter that is designed to cut through sheet metal for duct work would likely work. You drill a small hole in the center of where you want the hold cut and then insert the center. Google "sheet metal hole cutter"
You may also be able to rent one or rent a large hole saw.
