What kind and size of well pipe to use

I am going to be installing a new well pump and pipe and power cable. The pump will be suspended 240 foot below ground. What size and what psi polyethylene pipe do i use.

The pipe size would be determined by depth and flow rate.
The pipe sizing recommendations you should follow will be in the manual for your pump.

So the working pressure at the pump will be (240 feet x 0.433 PSI/ft) + pressure switch cut off pressure.

So if you have a 60/40 pressure switch:

(240 x .433) + 60 = 163.92 PSI working pressure.

I'd use at least 200 PSI pipe.

The .433 psi/ft figure is the pressure loss raising water one foot that has to be overcome by the pump.
