Pump for rain water tank?

Hello,
what would be the best pump to supply whole house with water from a water tank? It's a 1 story house and I doubt that I need a pump higher then 0.5 hp power.
Could you please share your experience?
Thank you!

I seriously doubt stored rain water would be safe to use as a potable water supply. Maybe for toilets or laundry would be okay.

Yes, it's not going to be used for drinking, unless it's an emergency.

Ok.... I'm not understanding you.
Is it your plan to tie that pump into the house domestic water system ?

I know a few people that have rainwater tanks. They use a submersible pump..... like a pool cover pump... and turn it on when water is needed. They do not have any connections between that system and the house. They use a garden hose to distribute the water.
