Pressure tank piping
I've been told often to install the check valve on the house side of the pressure tank setup. I see on a new pressure tank box today a diagram with the check valve just upstream of the tank. I'm just wondering which is right. If it makes a difference the well head is about 30' above the pressure tank with about 250' of 1 1/4" pipe. Also, I know this is kind of a no no but I'm half tempted to put a ball valve and pull the handle off the incoming line for the convenience of servicing the tank later on without having to drain that much pipe. Thoughts?
Next question is there is a 1" line feeding a yard hydrant outside that will be tied in after the tank. Is it necessary to put a check valve on this line as well?
