Septic lid/riser
I have a broken concrete lid & would like to replace with plastic because I’ve had intermittent pump problems & removing concrete lid takes 2 people. I’m assuming it’s a concrete riser that is at ground level & it has a lip. I was looking at riser systems mostly just for lid but also the concrete lip is eroding (20 yr old system). Can a riser be attached inside lip? How? I’ve seen adapters but I don’t have enough flat surface to attach

Two houses ago I installed plastic risers and lids because the tank was 4' deep. the risers fit into the tank opening and I just put a bed of concrete around the base of the riser to hold into place.
Plastic lid fit inside riser, did this answer question?

Marq1...thanks....I keep reading about adapters but yes, what I’d like to do is just get a 6” riser & perhaps concrete caulk & regrade a bit....I am at ground level. We bought this home 2 yrs ago & never had a sand mound & so I’m learning ....if this works I’ll also replace the lid for the pump out tank ...that one is about 6” underground

Sounds like you and I have similar setups.
My tank pump got blown out by rain water getting into the outlet (installed at ground level and not water tight...idiots) and fried the outlet and pump.
The tank lid is a concrete frame, cracked in three corners with gaps over an inch wide and the concrete lid (which also takes 2 people to lift) moving lower and lower into the frame as it separates. Let's also mention the rebar handles on either side of the frame broken in half and sticking out at odd angles just waiting to stab someones foot.
I figured while I was changing out the pump, I might as well take the opportunity to rid my backyard of this unsightly safety hazard.
I got the PolyLok system with the square tank adaptor ring and riser. I will be installing it tomorrow, if all goes as planned. My tank opening is 22"x22" and I believe I should have enough room to install the PolyLok adaptor ring on the tanks body given that it's pretty much the same dimensions as the current concrete frame that the lid sat in.
Side Note: I'm also installing a new outlet to sit above ground level with a weather cover.
