well regulator
A hose broke on my outside line and made my well pump run full bore for at least 10 minutes.
I just happened to look out the window and ran out to shut it off. I cant believe I didnt close the handle
on the outside frost free yesterday. I hope it didnt damage the pump more than a little bit.
Its a fairly new Franklin 1 hp.
Maybe there is a well serviceman on the forum here....how much damage do you think it did???
Is there a feature I can include in my system that will not let my pump run in any circumstance
more than a set amount of minutes...? it would have some kind of adjustable setting on it for the time limit
and could be turned off in the event I need all the water(fire).
thanks

Running for 10 or an hour minutes does not harm a pump at all as long as there is water in the well.
You don't want a limit on your well pump run time. It's an unnecessary piece of equipment and one more thing that can fail or cause problem.
